The UAE ranks first in the Middle East and North Africa in terms of solar energy use
According to a research published by Oxford University’s “View the World with Data” website and BP’s “World Energy Statistics Yearbook”, the UAE ranks first in the Northeast Africa region in terms of solar energy use and fourth in the world.
By 2020, the UAE’s solar energy consumption per capita will reach 1,056 kWh, ranking fourth in the world. Solar energy currently accounts for 0.77% of the UAE’s total energy consumption, reflecting the UAE’s advanced nature in the production and use of renewable energy.
The world’s top ten countries in terms of solar energy use are Australia, Japan, Germany, UAE, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Chile, the United States, and Spain.
